Maison de KAFEN Flagship Store
Commercial Space - West-facing Sun Improvement Sharing
When consumers walk into a brand flagship store, they don't just experience the products, but also the lifestyle the brand wishes to convey.
In 2026, Taiwan's renowned hair care brand "KAFEN" opened its new brand style flagship store, Maison de KAFEN, in Taichung. This store integrates professional hair product displays, scalp care experiences, and one-on-one beauty consultations, aiming to allow every customer to deeply experience the brand's value in a comfortable and high-quality space.
However, the advantage of ample natural light from large areas of glass also came with the accumulation of heat and the problem of west-facing sun exposure.
How to maintain a bright and transparent spatial feel in the store while reducing discomfort caused by sunlight and the burden on air conditioning became a crucial consideration for this space planning.

Heat accumulation due to large glass areas
After prolonged sun exposure, the surface temperature of the glass quickly rises, easily leading to localized stuffiness even with continuous air conditioning operation.
Intense sunlight affects customer comfort
Customers undergoing scalp care, product consultations, or taking photos are easily affected by dazzling sunlight, reducing the quality of their experience in the space.
Brand display area needs protection from UV damage
Prolonged UV exposure can cause fading and aging of product packaging, furniture, and display equipment, affecting the brand's image.
Must maintain the visual transparency of the storefront
As a brand flagship store, exterior display and interior lighting are equally important. The insulation solution cannot compromise the space's quality and visual effect.
The core technology of the HS series is not heat absorption, but rather "infrared reflective technology," which reflects a large amount of heat to the outside of the glass.
Compared to traditional window films, it can effectively reduce secondary radiant heat generated after glass absorbs heat, further improving overall insulation performance.
